Late 19th Century French Henry II Carved Oak Writing Table
A late 19th-century French oak writing table in the Henry II style, sourced in Provence, France. The table has been structurally revised, cleaned, and waxed in-house, preserving its warm patina and richly figured oak grain. The rectangular paneled top is framed by a hand-carved foliate border. A single drawer with a carved floral motif and scrolling foliage sits above four barley-twist legs, joined by an elaborate H-form stretcher with turned elements and carved floral blocks. Additional carved details decorate the side panels and corners, giving the table a richly detailed architectural character. With its compact proportions and decorative craftsmanship, the piece works beautifully as a writing desk, occasional table, or accent table in a living room or study.
