A striking 1930s French Art Deco square dining table, sourced in Paris, France, featuring richly figured rosewood veneer and a sculptural architectural pedestal base. The substantial square top showcases beautifully bookmatched rosewood veneer, creating a dramatic, symmetrical grain pattern with deep chocolate-brown figuring against warm amber and reddish-brown tones. Its clean, straight edges and thick profile emphasize the table's strong architectural proportions. The central pedestal features a geometric, stepped construction with recessed panels, projecting vertical elements, and layered molding that continues around the base. The contrasting directions of the rosewood grain accentuate its sculptural design, while four low, rounded block feet provide a subtle finishing detail. The table has been structurally revised and refinished, enhancing the natural depth and movement of the rosewood while preserving its distinctive character. Originally designed to accommodate extension leaves, which are no longer present.
