A French Louis Philippe period walnut writing table dating to the mid-19th century, sourced in Provence, France. The table features a rectangular paneled top framed by broad walnut boards with a softly molded edge, resting on four finely turned legs. The front is fitted with two spacious drawers, each retaining a turned wooden pull. Traditional hand-cut dovetail joinery is visible along the drawer construction, with naturally aged interiors that reflect the piece’s history. The remaining sides are simply finished, giving the table a balanced and understated profile. The walnut displays a warm, rich tone with an attractive aged patina throughout. The top retains visible scratches, marks, tonal variations, and traces of generations of use, adding depth and character without detracting from the table’s refined proportions. Structurally revised to ensure it is solid and stable, then cleaned and polished with wax while preserving the aged surface and patina.
