Set of Six 1930s French Art Deco Mustache Back Walnut Dining Chairs
A refined set of six 1930s French Art Deco dining chairs sourced from Provence, distinguished by their iconic mustache back - expressed through a subtly shaped scalloped crest that adds movement to an otherwise clean, architectural form. The frames are crafted in solid walnut, recently refinished to reveal a warm, even tone with natural depth. The silhouette is restrained and balanced, with gently curved front legs and a slightly pitched rear stance that gives the chairs a composed, grounded presence. Each chair has been structurally revised in our workshop and is solid and ready for daily use. The seats and backs have been newly upholstered in an off-white performance fabric with a subtle herringbone texture. Selected for durability and ease of maintenance, the fabric is well-suited for everyday dining while maintaining a soft, tailored appearance. A deep green contrast welt outlines the form, while the reverse of each back is upholstered in the same green fabric, creating a cohesive and tailored finish from all angles. The combination of walnut, soft neutral upholstery, and green detailing gives the set a refined but distinctive presence - equally suited for formal interiors or more relaxed, lived-in spaces. Designed to be used, not just styled.
