Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Long Oak Dining Table with Drawers
A mid-19th century French Louis Philippe oak dining table, sourced in Paris. The table has been structurally revised and waxed in our workshop, preserving its rich, characterful patina and naturally aged wood surface. The long rectangular top features broad oak planks framed by a mitered border, with softly rounded edges and visible grain throughout. Six turned legs with decorative ring and baluster detailing support the table, reflecting the restrained elegance of the Louis Philippe period. Two drawers feature traditional dovetail joinery and aged metal cup pulls, providing practical storage while complementing the table's original character. Measuring over eight feet in length, the table offers a generous surface while maintaining a relatively narrow profile. Its versatile proportions make it equally suitable as a dining table, library table, or writing table, particularly in interiors where a long work surface or central gathering space is desired. The oak displays warm brown tones, variations in grain, and a naturally developed patina, with surface marks and signs of age that contribute to its character.
