Late 19th Century French Rustic Farmhouse Pine Three-Drawer Writing Table

A late 19th-century French rustic farmhouse writing table crafted from solid pine, sourced in Provence, France. The table features a rectangular plank top above three drawers of varying widths, each retaining visible wooden dowels and fitted with a simple turned wooden knob. Four tapered legs and straightforward construction give the piece its distinctly rustic, utilitarian character. The pine displays a warm, richly aged patina with pronounced grain, knots and natural variations throughout. Numerous hand-scratched initials, inscriptions and markings remain visible across the drawer fronts and apron, adding character and reflecting the table’s long history of use. Generously proportioned, the table can function as a writing desk, work table, console or compact farmhouse dining table. Structurally revised, cleaned and polished with wax. Solid and stable, with scratches, markings, old repairs and wear consistent with age and use.
