Antique French Louis XVI Painted Green Dining Chairs in Floral Fabric- Set of 6
An exceptional set of six late 19th-century French dining chairs, meticulously restored and presented in the refined Marie Antoinette / Louis XVI style. Sourced directly from Paris, the set includes four side chairs and two armchairs. Each chair features a finely hand-carved shield-shaped backrest, finished in a richly layered green paint with an authentic aged patina and tasteful areas of natural distressing. The frames have been fully restored for structural integrity, ensuring the chairs are solid, stable, and suitable for everyday use. The chairs are newly upholstered in a rare vintage floral cotton fabric by Atelier Originals, dating to the 1980s. The fabric has been professionally treated for stain resistance and durability, and reinforced with a heat-fused backing to ensure it withstands everyday use. The stylized floral motif blends Jacobean and Chinoiserie influences, and each chair highlights a unique section of the print, adding character and charm to the ensemble. Custom down-filled cushions have been added to the armchairs to balance seat height across the set. The upholstery is clean-finished with single piping along the backs and welt trim on the seats for a tailored look. Gracefully tapered and fluted legs ending in classic toupie feet complete the timeless Louis XVI silhouette—an elegant and versatile choice for both traditional and collected interiors.
