18th Century French Renaissance Carved Walnut Chest

Magnificent 18th-century French carved chest coffer sourced from Provence, France. Beautifully hand-crafted from solid walnut, it features an intricately hand-carved linenfold composition on the front. The plank top reveals a large storage bin, perfect for storing linens and blankets. The wood showcases a naturally aged dark patina with a rich brown color and grains. The front, sides, and back of the chest are joined by oversized dovetail joints and exposed wooden dowels. The chest is raised on two carved feet, with the back also constructed with dovetail joints. Solid and stable, this piece exemplifies excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a traditional French Renaissance profile.
