An elegant French Louis Philippe chest of drawers, mid-19th century, sourced in Paris and crafted in walnut with richly figured burled walnut veneer across the drawer fronts and sides. The piece is topped with its original white Carrara marble slab displaying soft grey veining and lightly chamfered corners. The facade is organized with four drawers framed by subtle moulding and fitted with later brass ring pulls. It rests on a straight plinth base with block feet, giving the commode a composed architectural presence while retaining the warmth characteristic of Louis-Philippe furniture. The piece has been structurally revised in our workshop to ensure stability and everyday usability. Drawers have been aligned and slide smoothly. Interior construction shows traditional hand-cut dovetail joinery with solid wood secondary woods, and the commode retains a concealed lower drawer typical of period craftsmanship. The surface has been carefully cleaned and polished, preserving the natural patina while enhancing the depth and tone of the walnut. A refined and versatile commode suited for a bedroom, entry, or living space in both classic and contemporary interiors.
