1930s French Art Deco Walnut Burl Veneer Double Pedestal Executive Desk

A French Art Deco double pedestal desk dating to the 1930s, sourced in Paris, France. The desk has undergone structural restoration and refinishing in our workshop, preserving its original character while refreshing the wood surfaces. The design features richly figured walnut burl veneer with striking bookmatched patterns across the drawer fronts, curved pedestal sides, and back panels. The warm amber and deep brown tones contrast with the black lacquered accents, including the rounded desktop edges, cylindrical drawer pulls, and pedestal bases. The desk is supported by two pedestals, each fitted with three drawers, providing six storage compartments. The upper drawers feature keyholes, while the generous rectangular writing surface has softly rounded corners and a low raised gallery along the back. The curved pedestal profiles and symmetrical construction reflect the streamlined geometry characteristic of French Art Deco furniture. Finished on all sides, the desk can be positioned freely within a room, making it particularly suitable for an executive office, private study, or residential workspace. In good restored vintage condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. Keys are not included.
