1920s French Art Deco Giltwood Center Table with Calacatta Viola Marble
A 1920s French Art Deco oval center table featuring a richly veined Calacatta Viola marble top, sourced in Paris, France. The table has been structurally revised, with selective touch-ups to the gilding while preserving its original character and patina. The oval marble top features dramatic violet and gray veining against a creamy white background, framed by a broad giltwood molding. The apron combines warm burl wood veneer with a continuous carved and gilded floral frieze featuring stylized leaves, blossoms, and berries. Four slender, fluted giltwood legs extend from the tabletop's perimeter, tapering elegantly toward the floor and introducing a Neoclassical influence to the Art Deco design. With its refined proportions and contrasting materials, the table makes a distinctive centerpiece for a living room, entry hall, or formal sitting area. Good antique condition with age-related wear to the gilding and wood surfaces, along with natural patina, veining, and areas of historic filling visible in the marble.
