Set of 6 Early 20th Century French Louis XVI Cane Dining Armchairs in Pink Stripe
An exceptional set of six early 20th-century French Louis XVI style dining chairs, sourced in Paris, France. The chairs have been newly upholstered in a substantial vintage woven French textile, sourced in Paris, combining broad pink bands with cream and deep green stripes. The fabric has a beautiful weight and subtle luster. The seats were completely redone, and the upholstered armrests were finished to match. The entire set has been structurally revised in our design studio, ensuring stability and everyday functionality, while the frames were cleaned and polished with wax. The frames showcase a beautifully aged warm ivory painted finish with gilded and green-painted accents. Natural crackling, gentle rubbing, and variations in tone throughout create a richly layered patina that complements the bold striped upholstery. Classic Louis XVI details include tall rounded backs, gracefully curved arms, tapered fluted legs, carved rosettes, and delicate foliate carving. The hand-woven cane backs retain their naturally aged painted finish and patina, completing the refined yet highly decorative character of the set.
