A late 19th-century French Provincial trestle table sourced in Provence, France. The table has been structurally revised and waxed in our restoration workshop, preserving its beautifully aged surfaces and rich, warm patina. The rectangular tabletop is constructed from wide solid wood planks, displaying expressive grain patterns, natural splits, knots, and generations of wear. Its traditional trestle construction features two upright supports resting on sculpturally shaped feet, connected by a long horizontal stretcher with curved braces. Exposed wooden pegs, dowels, and traditional joinery highlight the craftsmanship and functional simplicity characteristic of French rural furniture. The table's restrained silhouette allows the natural character of the wood and its construction to take center stage. Its generous length and lower-than-standard height make it particularly appealing for relaxed dining, a country kitchen, or as a distinctive worktable. The architectural form and timeworn surfaces also offer a compelling contrast in contemporary interiors. The table retains a characterful patina with historic repairs, natural cracks, surface marks, and variations in tone consistent with its age and use.
