Late 19th Century French Napoleon III Walnut Writing Desk
A handsome late 19th-century French Napoleon III walnut writing desk, sourced in Provence, France, circa 1870–1880. The rectangular walnut top is framed by a molded edge and displays beautiful natural grain, knots, and a warm aged patina. The desk features two drawers across the front with carved geometric detailing and gilt-bronze wreath-form ring pulls. Fluted legs with carved details are joined by a distinctive H-form stretcher, giving the desk an elegant and balanced profile.
