A distinctive late 19th-century French Louis XVI style walnut desk armchair, sourced in Provence, France. The chair has undergone structural restoration in our workshop, with its walnut frame carefully revised and waxed to preserve the warmth and character of its original finish. Newly reupholstered in rich olive green mohair velvet, complemented by contrasting ivory and green striped piping. The architectural walnut frame features gracefully curved open arms supported by turned columns, carved floral rosettes at the seat corners, and a pierced lower backrest with repeating scrollwork. Four turned legs are connected by an elegantly shaped X-form stretcher, providing structural support while adding visual interest. The gently curved upholstered top rail and generously proportioned seat soften the chair's geometric detailing. The upholstery is finished with single piping along the upper seat edges, double piping along the seat frame, and matching double piping around the upholstered backrest. The striped trim introduces a subtle decorative contrast against the olive mohair and warm walnut. With its generous seat, supportive arms, and distinctive silhouette, this chair works beautifully as a desk chair, occasional armchair, or accent piece in a living room, bedroom, or study.
