A late 19th-century French Henri II Revival library table crafted in walnut, distinguished by its architectural base, elaborate turned supports, and rich, naturally aged patina. Sourced in Provence, France. The rectangular plank top features a molded border above a deep apron with recessed panels. Four substantial ring-turned columns support the table, joined by a molded H-form stretcher resting on rounded bun feet. Beneath the apron, a series of slender turned baluster supports and carved arches with geometric detailing create a distinctive arcade-like composition inspired by French Renaissance architecture. The walnut retains a rich, naturally aged patina with warm variations in tone, visible grain, and traces of age throughout. Small, previously filled woodworm holes and irregularities across the surface reflect the wood's history and contribute to its distinctive antique character. The table has been structurally revised, cleaned, and polished with wax, preserving its naturally aged finish and character. Its proportions make it particularly suitable as a library table, writing desk, or centerpiece in a study.
