A refined French Louis XVI style canapé sourced in Provence, dating to the early 20th century featuring a gently curved back and outscrolled arms terminating in padded rests. The frame is finished in a soft, warm off-white tone with subtle antiquing, highlighting the carved details throughout. The canapé has been structurally revised in our workshop to ensure stability and is ready for daily use. The frame has been lightly cleaned and preserved, maintaining its original character and patina. Upholstered in a rich moss green velvet, the seat and back are finished with hand-applied nailhead trim that follows the contours of the frame, adding contrast and definition. The long, loose seat cushion provides a more relaxed seating experience while maintaining a tailored appearance. The frame rests on fluted, tapered legs joined by a shaped apron, with carved rosette blocks at the corners - hallmarks of the Louis XVI canon. The back panel is fully upholstered, allowing the piece to float within a room. Elegant yet versatile, this canapé works well in both traditional and transitional interiors - ideal for a living room, bedroom, or entry.
