Antique French Louis XVI Style Painted Dining Chairs in Sky Blue Leather - Set of 6
A refined set of six early 20th century French Louis XVI dining chairs sourced in Paris, consisting of four side chairs and a pair of armchairs, expressing the enduring elegance of neoclassical design through balanced proportions and restrained ornamentation. The oval medallion backs, fluted tapering legs, and carved rosettes create an architectural silhouette that feels both formal and light, allowing the chairs to read clearly in a space without visual heaviness. Crafted from solid hardwood with traditional dowel and peg joinery, the frames have been structurally revised in our workshop and newly upholstered. Seats and armrests are finished in luxurious Italian sky blue leather. The backs are upholstered in a light blue striped cotton fabric, bordered by a single leather piping trim that outlines the medallion form. Each chair is detailed with hand-applied speckled brass nailhead trim, adding a quiet rhythm that complements the linear fluting of the legs. The pale painted finish softens the classical geometry while the cool blue palette introduces a contemporary calm, allowing the chairs to move easily between traditional interiors and more minimal settings. Comfortable, supportive, and visually composed, the set works equally well around a dining table or as occasional seating within a larger room.
