An exquisite early 19th century French Empire chaise longue, or recamier, sourced in Provence. Handcrafted from mahogany, the frame is carved with classical motifs, its scrolled ends detailed with rosette medallions and terminating in stylized swan heads — an iconic Empire symbol of grace and refinement. The profile is gently arched and supported by turned tapering legs with scalloped collars and ring moldings, giving the piece a balanced and architectural presence. The wood retains a rich, warm patina with minor age marks consistent with use. Structurally revised in our workshop, the chaise is solid and stable while preserving its historical integrity. It has been newly upholstered in a French woven Jacquard with navy and natural stripes. The crisp vertical pattern highlights the clean lines of the frame. A loose back cushion and bolster in the same textile complete the presentation, offering comfort while maintaining the Empire silhouette.
