Early 20th Century Spanish Walnut Console Table with Barley Twist Legs
An early 20th century Spanish walnut console table sourced in Provence, France. Crafted from solid walnut, the table features a narrow rectangular top above two carved drawers decorated with stylized shell motifs and original iron drop pulls. The table is supported by four finely turned barley twist legs joined by an H-form stretcher, a traditional form associated with Spanish furniture of the period. Additional geometric carved panels decorate the sides, adding depth and architectural character to the design. The rich walnut patina has developed beautifully over time, highlighting the grain and hand-worked details throughout. With its exceptionally narrow profile, this piece is particularly well suited for use as an entry console, hallway table, or behind a sofa where space is limited. Its versatile scale allows it to function comfortably in both traditional and contemporary interiors. Restored for stability and polished with wax.
