Antique French Renaissance Revival Henri II Style Oak Cane Dining Chairs - Set of 6
A charming set of six late 19th century French dining chairs executed in the Renaissance Revival, Henri II style, sourced in Provence. The chairs feature high, rectilinear backs with hand-caned panels, topped by carved crest rails with foliate motifs characteristic of French Renaissance-inspired design. The oak frames are raised on turned legs with block-and-turn construction and joined by square-section stretchers, providing strength and stability. The chairs have been structurally revised, with the wood cleaned and waxed to preserve the original surface and natural patina. The cane seats and backs are in excellent condition and have been shellacked, making the set solid and suitable for daily use.
