An elegant late 19th century French Provincial wash table or vanity made in the Louis Philippe style, sourced in Provence, France. The washstand features a solid maple base topped with Carrara white marble and a matching marble backsplash with an integrated oval mirror surround. The shaped marble superstructure reflects the restrained curves and balanced proportions associated with the Louis Philippe period, offering a timeless and architectural presence. The table is fitted with a single drawer constructed with dovetail joints and finished with a wooden knob and scalloped apron. It is raised on turned front legs with straight rear supports, connected by a lower stretcher for added stability. The piece has been fully structurally revised to ensure soundness and everyday usability. The wood has been carefully polished, enhancing its natural patina while preserving original character. The marble retains authentic age-related wear and subtle surface variation consistent with period use.
