Antique French Louis XVI Style Painted Dining Chairs W/ Leopard Jacquard - Set of 6

A refined set of six late-19th-century French Louis XVI style dining chairs, sourced in Paris. Each chair features the classic oval medallion back, fluted legs, carved corner rosettes, and an elegantly contoured seat rail. The frames retain their original painted finish, now softly worn with time and enhanced by a light clear wax applied in our New York workshop to preserve the patina. We also structurally revised all six chairs, ensuring stability and long-term durability while maintaining their antique integrity. The chairs were reupholstered at some point in the 20th century in a playful cheetah-patterned woven fabric reminiscent of iconic Schumacher animal prints, paired with brass nailhead trim outlining both the seat and the medallion back. The reverse of each back is upholstered in a contrasting red-and-cream gingham, giving the set a charming, distinctly French character. A beautiful and versatile set for dining or conversational seating, combining Parisian provenance, late-19th-century craftsmanship, and visually striking upholstery.
