Antique French Louis XVI Style Painted Chairs with Olive Green Leather - A Pair
A handsome pair of early 20th century accent side chairs made in Grand Louis XVI style, sourced in Provence. The chairs feature a painted finish, fluted tapering legs, carved rosette blocks, and shaped backs upholstered in their original deep olive green leather. The leather has developed a rich naturally aged patina over time, with visible wear, creasing, and character consistent with decades of use. Decorative brass nailhead trim outlines the upholstery, while remnants of the original gilt-tooled decoration remain visible on both the backrests and seats, adding depth and authenticity to the design. Our workshop has structurally restored the chairs for everyday use. The painted finish has been gently cleaned and waxed, preserving its aged character and naturally distressed areas. The leather has also been cleaned, conditioned, and waxed. Elegant and versatile, these chairs work equally well as dining chairs, desk chairs, or accent seating.
