Antique French Louis XVI Style Painted Accent Chair in Moss Green Mohair

A refined French Louis XVI style accent chair sourced in Paris, dating to the early 20th century. The chair features a classic shield-form back with a gently curved crest rail, fluted tapered legs, and carved rosette blocks with original gilt accents at the corners—hallmarks of the Louis XVI canon. The frame retains its original painted finish, showing a beautifully aged patina with traces of gilt and underlying tones. Subtle green accents along the rails and carved details echo the upholstery, creating a cohesive and layered palette that feels both intentional and authentic. Structurally revised in our workshop, the chair is solid, stable, and ready for daily use. It has been newly upholstered in a rich moss green mohair, finished with hand-applied brass nailhead trim that follows the elegant lines of the frame. The proportions and scale make it well suited as an accent chair, desk chair, or occasional seating within both traditional and transitional interiors.
