Antique French Louis XVI Painted Cane Back Dining Chairs in Blue Stripe - Set of 6
A charming set of six early 20th century French Louis XVI style dining chairs, sourced in Provence. Each chair is hand-crafted in solid hardwood with its original painted finish in a soft cream tone, naturally aged with a mellow patina and wear consistent with time. The shaped rectangular backs feature hand-woven cane panels framed by molded edges with subtle cresting detail. The seats have been newly upholstered in a French woven Jacquard with navy and natural stripes, accented with hand-applied brass nailhead trim. Raised on elegant tapered and fluted legs with carved rosettes at the corner blocks, the frames exhibit the balance and refinement typical of the Louis XVI period. Our restoration team has structurally revised each chair, securing the joints and ensuring stability for daily use, while preserving the authentic character of the painted surfaces and cane.
