1930s French Art Deco Walnut Partner Desk with Leather Top
A refined 1930s French Art Deco partner desk, sourced in Provence and structurally revised and refinished in our workshop. The desk is defined by a strong architectural form, executed in walnut with beautifully matched grain throughout. Clean lines and softly chamfered corners reflect the restrained elegance of late Art Deco design, balancing presence with practicality. The piece rests on carved faceted feet set beneath a continuous fluted apron, giving the base a grounded, sculptural quality while adding subtle rhythm along the lower edge. The front is configured with a total of five drawers: two drawers to each side, with the lower drawers designed as deeper, double-height storage, and a central locking drawer above the knee space. The top right drawer is fitted with an interior divider for organization. All drawers retain their original metal pulls and operate smoothly. The reverse is fully finished, allowing the desk to float within a room. At the center, a pair of paneled doors open to divided interior storage with shelving, offering practical concealed space. A pull-out writing surface is integrated along the back, providing additional functionality without interrupting the clean exterior lines. The top is fitted with its original inset leather, showing natural wear and patina consistent with age and use. A well-balanced and highly functional example of French Art Deco design, combining clean geometry, thoughtful storage, and strong architectural detailing.
