19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Cane Back Dining Chairs W/ Green Linen - Set of 6
Exquisite set of six late 19th century French dining chairs in the Grand Louis XVI style, sourced from Provence. Hand-crafted from solid hardwood, the chairs retain their original painted finish with finely carved details. Each has been structurally revised and features a rectangular cane back framed by fluted stiles topped with acorn finials, with floral rosettes at the corners. The carved seat rails display a repeating leaf motif and rest on tapered, fluted legs. The seats have been newly reupholstered in Peter Fasano’s hand-printed, blocked 100% linen, a custom fabric in a green and metallic gold diamond pattern, adding richness and a refined decorative accent. The painted finish has aged gracefully with natural wear and patina, while the cane panels remain in excellent condition, finished with matching welt trim for a tailored look.
