A lovely set of eight early 20th century French Louis XVI style dining chairs, sourced in Provence. Each chair is hand-crafted in solid hardwood and retains its original creamy antique white painted finish, with a naturally aged crackled patina and areas of soft distressing. The shaped oval backs and generous seats are upholstered in the original raspberry velvet, defined by nailhead trim that highlights the silhouette. Raised on turned and fluted legs with carved rosettes, the frames convey both elegance and solidity. We have structurally revised the set, ensuring stability and readiness for daily use while preserving the authentic character of the painted surfaces and velvet. The upholstery shows natural wear consistent with age, adding to the layered history and timeless appeal of the chairs.
