A refined pair of early 20th-century French Louis XVI-style side chairs, sourced in Provence, France. The chairs feature shaped rectangular backs with gently curved crest rails, carved detailing throughout, and classic tapered, fluted legs terminating in toupie feet. The frames retain their original painted finish in a soft antique white with gilt accents and areas of wear consistent with age and use. This pair retains its original upholstered seats and backs, finished in a blue velvet damask with subtle gold accents. The fabric shows light, even wear consistent with age and use, adding depth and character to the overall presentation. Finished with original-style brass nailhead trim. The chairs have been structurally revised in our workshop to ensure stability and proper function. Frames have been reinforced, and joints stabilized, making them solid and suitable for everyday use while preserving their original materials and surface character. A classic Louis XVI silhouette with elegant proportions, well-suited for dining, bedroom, or accent use.
