The table features an original carved walnut base dating to the 19th century, raised on four scrolling legs terminating in paw feet with casters. The base is richly detailed with deep foliate and scroll carving, gadrooning, and paneled reserves, and retains a warm, aged patina throughout. The circular top is a later maple addition, added at some point in the table’s history, and provides generous scale and visual presence. Due to the nature of the later top, this table is best suited as a center or decorative table rather than for active dining use.
