19th Century French Colonial Walnut Reading Cane Armchairs - A Pair

Late 19th century French Colonial reading his and hers armchairs curated from Provence, France. Beautifully handcrafted from solid walnut featuring an elegantly carved scroll arms constructed with exposed wooden dowels. The wood showcases a naturally aged rustic patina. The chairs come with hand-weaved caned seats. The chairs are raised on hand-carved turned legs constructed with wooden dowels. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a classic French colonial profile and silhouette.

- Dimensions: His armchair:  W 24.75" x D 27" x H 38" - arm height 22"/ seat height 14.25. Seat interior: W 20" x D 17.5". Her armchair: W 25.25" x D 26" x H 36.5" - arm height 21"/ seat height 12.75". Seat interior: W 19.75" x D 16"

- Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Very good condition with strong joinery. Age appropriate wear and minor fading on wood finish as seen in photos. One minor cane string break on the Her's armchair pictured that is difficult to see.
