18th Century Italian Renaissance Carved Walnut Cassone Chest
Magnificent 18th-century Italian carved cassone chest coffer featuring intricately hand-carved floral motifs. Entirely hand-crafted from solid walnut with a rectangular frame decorated with hand-carved design elements. The plank top reveals a large storage bin perfect for storing linens and blankets. The wood showcases a naturally aged patina with a waxed finish. The front and sides feature elegant carved panels. The chest has one cabinet door with the original lock and key. The cabinet door reveals three storage drawers constructed with dovetail joints and wooden knobs. The cabinet sits on four carved paw feet. The back of the chest is also made with dovetail joints. Solid and stable with excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a Traditional Italian Cassone profile.
