Late 19th Century Set of 6 French Henry II Hunting Renaissance Walnut Dining Chairs W/ Original Hand-Tooled Leather
Late 19th-century set of 6 French Hunting Renaissance leather dining chairs hand-crafted from walnut in the style of French Henry II. The set features solid wood construction with intricate hand-carved details and intact spindles. The chairs come with their original aged, patinated, dark brown tooled leather beautifully contrasting with the exposed warm brown suede underneath. The leather design depicts a floral composition. The leather was also cleaned finished with oversized brass pins. Raised on hand-carved turned legs conjoined by an H-shape curved stretcher. Solid and stable with spacious seats. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a traditional French Henry II silhouette. Circa 1880s.
