French provincial set of four painted dining chairs made in French Directoire style. Beautifully hand-crafted from solid wood constructed with elegant hand-molded neoclassical style square-shaped back frames. Finished in white lacquer with a naturally aged antique white patina decorated with turquoise paint. The chairs are upholstered with green velvet fabric clean-finished with brass tack nailhead trim. The spacious padded seats are supported by elegant tapered, fluted front legs ending with toupie feet typically seen in the Louis XVI style chairs, and rear legs at the back. The front legs are also decorated with carved rosettes on the corners. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a Transitional French Directoire silhouette with a beautiful color combination.
