19th Century French Directoire Carved Cherry Wood Provincial Daybed Chaise Lounge
A beautiful 19th-century French Directoire style daybed hand-crafted from solid cherry.The chaise has a solid 6.2 feet long hand-carved wooden frame showcasing naturally aged patina with beautiful cherry grains and rich warm brown color. Influenced by the Greek and Roman movement the daybed features carved ends with splat back depicting a palmette design. The lounge is upholstered in a diamond pattern blue cotton fabric. The seat has a fitted loose seat cushion accompanied by three pillows and two bolsters. The chaise is supported by four hand-carved saber legs and two central tapered legs. Solid and stable with excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a classic French Directoire provincial profile.
