Late 19th-century French provincial painted canapé in the style of Louis XVI. The settee features a solid hand-molded frame with a square back showcasing a naturally aged patina with distressed antique white lacquer finish. The sofa is upholstered in salmon orange mohair velvet fabric cleaned finished with brass tack nailhead trim. The three-seater canapé is supported by six elegantly tapered, fluted legs ending with toupie feet typical for Louis XVI chairs. The front legs are also decorated with carved rosettes on the corners. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a classic French Louis XVI silhouette and beautiful color combination.
