Rustic, 19th-century country French farmhouse low petrin or storage bin from Provence, France. Entirely hand-crafted from solid oak featuring a thick, rectangular plank top. The top showcases a naturally aged, warm, rustic patina on the waxed finish with old light gray paint remnants. The large top is attached to the bin with the original wrought iron hinges. The top reveals a spacial storage space, once used to make the bread dough mix in the bin, then removed and kneaded on the top. The bin is constructed with exposed wooden dowels. The petrin is raised on thick tapered legs constructed with wooden pegs. Solid and stable with excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a Classic French provincial profile.
