Mid-19th-century country French provincial dough bin baking table, large coffee table, or low console from Provence, France. Beautiful hand-crafted from solid walnut and constructed with two 7 feet long rectangular planks. The thick top slides left and right to reveal a spacious storage bin once used to make the bread dough mix in the bin, then removed and kneaded on the tabletop. The top was also used to iron clothes. The wood showcases a naturally aged rustic warm patina with a waxed finish. This storage table is supported by a heavy stand with thick tapered legs constructed with exposed wooden pegs. Solid and stable with excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a Classic French provincial profile.
